1. Scope

This Standard applies to the following products rated at 600 V and less, and designed to be used in nonhazardous locations in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I: (a) cord sets and power supply cords for making electrical connection between a power service connection and portable luminaires, appliances, and similar equipment; (b) cord reels for general use and special use cord reels intended to be mounted on or in utilization equipment such as a ppliances, portable luminaires, etc; (c) general use and Hospital Grade moulded-on attachment plugs and cord connectors; and (d) cord-connected, multiple receptacle extension boxes intended for mounting on a work bench or other surface to provide a convenient supply of power to portable appliances, tools, etc.
