CSA Preface 

This is the second edition of CSA E61951-2, Secondary cells and batteries containing alkaline or other non-acid electrolytes - Secondary sealed cells and batteries for portable applications - Part 2: Nickel-metal hydride , which is an adoption, with Canadian deviations, of the identically titled IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 61951-2 (fourth edition, 2017-03). It supersedes the previous edition, published in 2014 as CAN/CSA-E61951-2 (adopted IEC 61951-2:2011). 

This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group. Scope This part of IEC 61951 specifies marking, designation, dimensions, tests and requirements for secondary sealed nickel-metal hydride small prismatic, cylindrical and button cells and batteries, suitable for use in any orientation, for portable applications.
