This work book is intended to be a business tool for small and medium sized enterprises. It is designed to introduce the user to an environmental management system (EMS) that is aligned with the five key principles and elements of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidance standard, ISO 14004. It is interactive and patterned such that an EMS based on international standards can be developed within the resource limitations of smaller organizations.
Users of this work book will find it a pragmatic document. It can introduce the organization to some of the concepts of a future registration program or it may be used as a guideline to incorporating environmental management in day to day administration.
