This Instructor's manual is intended to provide guidance to instructors of the Environmental Management System course for small and medium-sized enterprises. It is intended to be used in conjunction with the CSA Information Product PLUS 1117, Competing Leaner, Keener and Greener - A Small Business Guide to ISO 14000. The course introduces small and medium-sized e nterprises to an environmental management system that is aligned with the five key principles and elements of the ISO guidance standard, ISO 14004.
Users of this manual will find it provides guidance on the elements of environmental management systems as well as principles of adult education as they may be applied to the teaching of environmental management system development and implementation. Extensive guidance on training materials, instructor preparation and course evaluation are also provided. Finally, presentation overheads are included to provide additional background information on relevant topics.
