1. Scope
1.1
This Standard specifies the requirements for all types of welded aluminum construction, and is of general application.
There are, however, special Standards which may be used for particular products, such as, pressure vessels and pipelines.
1.2
This Standard gives provisions for gas metal arc (GMAW), gas tungsten arc (GTAW), plasma arc (PAW) processes, and stud (SW ) welding by the arc and capacitor discharge processes.
1.3
Mandatory requirements are given in the body of the Standard. The appendices provide supplementary information about welding and welded joints.
