1. Scope
1.1
This Standard describes a procedure for the measurement of A-weighted sound levels in and around industrial, institutional, or commercial sites.
1.2
This Standard applies to the measurement of sounds that are essentially non-impulsive in nature.
1.3
This Standard may be used to determine:
(a) Those operating areas where permitted sound levels are exceeded;
(b) The sound levels at operator work stations;
(c) The sound levels at the property line of an industrial, institutional, or commercial site.
1.4
This Standard does not apply to the prediction of the exposure of personnel to noise.
