1. Scope

1.1

This Code applies to the design, manufacture, installation, operation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of tower cranes used to raise, lower, and move materials and equipment.

1.2

The category of tower cranes covers: (a) Climbing tower cranes; (b) Stationary tower cranes; (c) Travelling tower cranes.

1.3

This Code shall not apply to: (a) Cranes in categories other than tower cranes; (b) Mobile cranes outfitted as tower cranes.
