1. Scope
1.1 General This Standard applies to the commissioning of plumbing systems in health care facilities. It is a companion document to the other Standards in the CSA Z318 Series of Standards.
1.2
This Standard is intended to assist the commissioning team in the preparation of a commissioning plan to define commissioning requirements and project coordination for newly installed or renovated plumbing systems in health care facilities. This plan includes but is not limited to the following: (a) the human and financial resources required to accomplish commissioning; and (b) the responsibilities of the commissioning team; and (c) the timing and integration of the commissioning process.
1.3
Application For the purpose of this Standard, plumbing systems include but are not limited to those related items referred to in national and provincial building codes as well as CSA Standards and any other health care facility requirements.
