1. Scope

This Standard applies to (a) water for the preparation of dialysing fluid and concentrate for haemodialysis; (b) all water intended for contact with the dialysing fluid pathway; (c) baseline quality of the feed water and any other input water; (d) water treatment and monitoring equipment; (e) water distribution system; and (f) product water used for flushing blood pathways prior to sterilization but not for flushing after sterilization.
Note: Users of this Standard are invited to consult the other Standards in the Z364 series dealing with kidney dialysis.
