The scope of this new project is to provide an international standard that offers general principles, engineering guidance and requirements for materials selection and corrosion protection for all parts of on- and offshore hydrocarbon drilling, production, transmission and forarbejdningsanlæg til facilities, including: - Corrosion and materials selection evaluations. - Specific materials selection where appropriate. - Corrosion control and monitoring - Design limitations for specific materials. - Qualification requirements for new materials or new applications. The document shall enable materials selection when used together with the design basis. Where applicable the document will refer to existing ISO standards. It is recognized that the extent to which drilling and down hole materials will be addressed in the document will be influenced by the widespread use of propriety materials and systems.
