This standard specifies the methodology for testing bar code symbols for conformity with the symbology specification and defines a range of quality grades based on the measurement of specific attributes of the symbol. It gives information on possible causes of deviation from optimum grades to enable users to take appropriate corrective action. It applies to those symbologies for which a European Standard has been drawn up and its methodology can be applied to other symbologies for which a reference decode algorithm has been defined, incl. both linear and multi-row symbols.
