This INSTA sets up a method of registration of data on incidents (accidents and near accidents) with Lifts, Escalators and Walks, covered by the Lifts directive (95/16/ EU and the Machinery directive 2006/42EU in an uniform way of describing and recording data. The method can assist Member states to fulfill the requirement in EU regulation 765/2008 of implementing suitable measures to survey accidents and impact on health from products. By this method of registration it will be possible to compare and evaluate data on incidents, accidents and near accidents with existing lifting equipment as defined in column 03 (on page xx).
