This International Standard specifies requirements for a road traffic safety (RTS) management system to 167 enable an organization that interacts with the road traffic system to reduce death and serious injuries 168 related to road traffic crashes. The requirements in this Standard include development and implementation 169 of an appropriate RTS policy, development of objectives which take into account legal and other 170 requirements to which the organization subscribes, and information about elements and criteria related to 171 RTS that the organization identifies as those which it can control and those which it can influence. 172 NOTE: Annex A provides some guidance on the implementation of this International Standard.
