This international standard (standard) describes HVSC systems, on board the ship and on 290 shore, to supply the ship with electrical power from shore. 291 This standard is applicable to the design, installation and testing of HVSC systems and 292 addresses: 293 • HV shore distribution system, 294 • shore-to-ship connection and interface equipment, 295 • transformers/reactors, 296 • semiconductor / rotating convertors, 297 • ship distribution system, and 298 • control, monitoring, interlocking and power management system. 299 This standard does not apply to the electrical power supply during docking periods, e.g. dry 300 docking and other out of service maintenance and repair. 301 NOTE 1 Additional and/or alternative requirements may be imposed by the National Administration or Authorities 302 within whose jurisdiction the ship is intended to operate and/or by the Owners or Authorities responsible for a 303 shore supply or distribution system. 304 NOTE 2 It is expected that HVSC systems will have practicable applications for ships requiring 1 MW or more or 305 ships with HV main supply. 306 NOTE 3 Low-voltage shore connection systems are not covered by this standard.
