Replace the second paragraph by the following: This European Standard deals with the safety of electrically operated commercial hoods intended to collect and conduct contaminated air, and not intended for household use, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single phase, and 480 V for others. The following extraction systems are covered as well: - back draft ventilation; - downdraft ventilation; - fume extraction bridges. Products covered by this standard do not create a noise hazard, therefore no specific provisions concerning noise are given. Replace NOTE 101 by the following: NOTE 101 Hoods may be used together with one or more commercial catering appliances of the same or different types. Commercial catering appliances are used, for example in restaurants, canteens, hospitals and commercial enterprises such as bakeries, butcheries, etc. Add the following text after NOTE 101: This standard deals with the reasonably foreseeable hazards presented by these types of appliances. This standard does not apply to - household range hoods (EN 60335-2-31), - hoods not incorporating a fan, - hoods designed exclusively for industrial purposes, - hoods intended to ne used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas), - hoods designed for use in vehicles or on board of ships or aircraft, CLC/TC 61 secretariat's note: All other Part 2 standards just state that additionally requirements may be needed in Note 103. - hoods with special treatment of cooking fumes, e.g. UV-C treatment, plasma-treatment, catalyser, etc., - ventilation and air conditioning systems, - exhaust air systems. Replace NOTE 102 by the following: NOTE 102 Attention is drawn to the fact that in many countries additional requirements on the safe use of the appliances covered may be specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour, the national water supply authorities and similar authorities. Delete NOTE 103 and NOTE 104.
