Dansk Standard
This International Standard applies to - Testing the effectiveness of the protective measures of single phase and polyphase electrical equipment connected to final circuits by a plug or permanently connected with a rated voltage up to 1 000 V a.c. and 1 500 V d.c after repair, and - in the case of recurrent test - the requirements of the test procedures applied for the verification of the effectiveness of the protective measures the permissible limits for compliance - mechanical parts of ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, which may impact on the effectiveness of the protective measures - ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, which has been placed again in circulation - electrical parts of the equipment, which cannot explicitly be named as ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT (e.g. gas boiler) This standard applies only to ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT such as - laboratory apparatus - measuring equipment and control devices - devices for household use and similar functions - appliances for transforming and producing voltages which are not part of the fixed installation. - electric tools - electric heating devices - electric motor devices - lighting fixtures, which are not part of the fixed installation - devices for the entertainment, information and communication technology - extension cords, multi-way adapters and connection leads This standard does not apply - To the verification of the electrical installation which is covered by IEC 60364-6 - to equipment, for which special legislation, regulations and standards should be noted for corrective MAINTENANCEand/or verifications (for example devices for EX-zones or for mining) - to medical ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT according to IEC 60601-1 (see also IEC 62353) - to arc welding equipment according to IEC 60974-1 (see IEC 60974-4) - to protective devices for household and similar use. These devices are covered by standards such as IEC 61008-1, IEC 61009-1, IEC 60898-1, IEC 60898-2, IEC 62423, and IEC 62335. - to fixed installed components of the distribution system, e.g. RCMs, circuit breakers, IMDs, IFLS) - for testing electrical equipment of machines according IEC 60204-1 - for testing electrical switchgear and controlgear assemblies according to IEC 61439 series - to equipment that is repaired by the manufacturer during the production 134 at their own facility NOTE Safety regulations, which do not directly result from danger connected to electricity, for example for the protection against mechanical impact or for fire protection, as well as for testing procedures which are aimed at that, if applicable, are not subject to this standard. They are stipulated in the respective product standards This standard is not intended to define time intervals for RECURRENT TESTS. If such intervals are not defined BY REGULATING BODIES, BY USER OR BY MANUFACTURER, Annex C may be used to help establish such intervals.
