This part of IEC 61000 deals with the limits for harmonic (including grouped interharmonic) 133 currents produced by the inverter of inverter-type electrical energy-supplying equipment (ESE) 134 as defined in 3.2, but which does not include energy storage. The limits given in this document 135 are applicable to inverters with a reference current as defined in 3.3 (see also 5.2.3) less than 136 or equal to 75 A per phase, intended to be connected to public low-voltage AC distribution 137 systems of the following types; 138 • single-phase, two or three wires; nominal voltage up to 240 V 139 • three-phase, three or four wires; nominal voltage up to 690 V 140 • nominal frequency 50 Hz or 60 Hz. 141 This document specifies: 142 a) requirements and emission limits for equipment; 143 b) methods for type tests and simulations. 144 Tests according to this document are type tests of complete pieces of equipment. 145 Equipment which mainly absorbs energy but which is capable of supplying energy to the public 146 supply as a secondary function is excluded from the scope 147 EXAMPLE an elevator motor drive returning energy during braking. This document provides limits and testing procedures for equipment in the range up to harmonic order 40 (H40), i.e. 2000 Hz or 2400 Hz depending on line frequency. NOTE 1 – Limits for frequencies in the range from 2 kHz to 9 kHz might be added in a future edition of this document. NOTE 2 – Limits and procedures for storage systems might be added in a future edition of this document.
