The International Standard applies to the structure of the ship and to on-board machinery and equipment, and is intended for implementers of software used for capture and processing of sensor data from the objects mentioned above. This International Standard consists of the following definitions. a) Data Channel ID Data Channel ID is for uniquely identifying logical Data Channel. b) Data Channel Property Data Channel Property is for defining attributes of Data Channel. c) Time Series Data Time Series Data, assumed here, are time-indexed digital data from sensors and/or computers. The data can be raw numeric values from sensors, processed data from computers, event data, status data and manually input data. d) Data Structure Two types of data structures are defined. One is for Data Channel List, a list of Data Channel definition, which consists of Data Channel ID and Data Channel Property, while the other is for Time Series Data.
