This document presents a protocol for the application of semi-quantitative Wavelength Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (WD-XRFS) commercial packages for assessment of the concentration of rare earth elements (REEs) contained in magnet scrap from End of Life (EOL) products intended for recycling. The standard can be subdivided into two parts: 1. The first part outlines a procedure for safe handling of the magnet scrap 2. The second part specifies measurement of the REE content in the magnet scrap WARNING – The use of this document may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment.
