This document applies to brake pads for disc brakes of railway rolling stock.
This document applies to pads designed to be fitted to disc braked rail vehicles regardless of whether they are interoperable or their operation is restricted to national networks.
The brake pad may be manufactured from any material on the basis that it complies with 6.2 of this document, and will hereafter be called ""pad"".
This document is based on a pad that provides a mean dynamic coefficient of friction of approximately 0,35 and static coefficient of friction of approximately 0,30. However, it does not prohibit the use of pads with other friction coefficients.
