The standard to be drawn up shall apply to permanent material ropeways as monocable double-cable aerial ropeways in one-lane or two-lane operation for transporting - goods to and away from shelters and mountain huts and - specifically designated persons. The standard to be drawn up shall not be applied in the following cases: - Ropeways that are primarily designed, installed or operated for transporting persons; - Non-permanent material ropeways; - Lifts; - Fixed and mobile equipment that only serves for leisure and pleasure purposes and not the transportation of persons; - Water ski lift installations; - Agricultural and forestry installations; - Rope crane and crane installations; - Mining installations or other installations built and used for industrial purposes; - Drilling installations. It shall describe the significant hazards resulting during the construction and operation of material ropeways as well as measures for rectifying these hazards or their reduction. The required hazard analysis shall be carried out in according to DIN EN ISO 12100.
