The ‘products’ referred earlier cover goods as well as services. ‒ It focusses on material efficiency [2], in the context of the technical cycles of the circular economy [3]. ‒ This standard, having the life cycle thinking as a core principle, provides guidance on how to reduce environmental impacts, and how to deal with challenges such as trade-offs during product design. ‒ This standard is not a management system standard.
