DID DI-SESS-82231 establishes the engineering criterion for the selection and application of mechanical fasteners for both air vehicles and aircraft stores. The overall objective of this document is to provide design activities or integrated product teams (IPTs) with fastener subsystem standard policies and design information; it documents selection and application information for fastening systems and procedures so the designers or IPTs can achieve an optimum balance of performance, reliability, and standardization with minimum cost, logistic inventory and maintenance.
