The purpose of this Classification Note is to provide DnVC's clients with guidelines on minimum contents of the stability documentation required in connection with stability approval of ships.
The information in this Clasi;ification Note is made to suit various stability rules/regulations. Therefore one should refer to the ruleii/regulations in question to determine the applicable information for the ship in qaestion.
This Classification Note is not a substitute for the rules or regulations, but a means to help implementing them.
DnVC may accept other layout of stability documentation, provided the basic contents is included.
The stability documentation/booklet should be presented in a binder (A4) and must be indexed and numbered.
The stahility documents shall be legible, clear and easy to use onboard.
The units in all stability documentation must be consistent.
The damage stability approval can be either general based on approval of limit curves or specific hased on approval of specific loading conditions representing the intended service of the vessel.
Approval of preliminary stability documentation means preliminary stability approval. Short-term certi ficates require preliminary stabili ty approval.
Approval of final stability documenation means final slability approval. Full-term certificates require final stability approval.
IACS LL45 Standard for Stabili ty Documentation t.o Satisfy Regulation 10(2) ofTCLL 1966 is recommended.
