Scope and application

This programme is applicable for the approval of manufacturers of:

— PVC foam (polyvinyl chloride polymer)

— PET foam (polyethylene terephthalate)

— SAN foam (styrene acrylonitrile)

— PS foam (polystyrene)

— PMI foam (polymthacrylimide)

— end-grain balsa wood,

— other core materials on agreement with Society.

The approval is required for, and limited to the manufacturing process, such as extrusion, expansion etc. Approval may be limited to certain material properties, like density, shear strength etc.

Where type approval (TA) is required, the manufacturing, documentation and technical requirements including testing shall also comply with the relevant TA programme.

The approval is valid for one production site of core materials. Each production site may include more than one production line covered by the same certificate.

This programme covers the procedures for initial approval, renewal of approval and extension or change of approval.
