Scope and extent of fatigue assessment
The scope and extent of fatigue assessment is defined in:
— Sec.2 for main class
— Pt.5 for specific vessel types and designs
— Pt.6 for additional class notations.
A fatigue strength analysis shall be performed for structures which are predominantly subjected to cyclic loads. Due consideration shall thereby be given to auxiliary structures such as e.g. fasteners. The notched details i.e. the welded joints as well as notches at free plate edges shall be considered individually.
