These rules provide design requirements for steering gears intended to move a rudder to be installed on board a vessel classed by the Society.
Rudders
Requirements for rudders are given in Pt.3 Ch.14 and in DNV rules for classification: High speed and light craft, DNV-RU-HSLC Pt.3 Ch.5.
Geared and podded thrusters
Requirements to steering of podded and geared thrusters are given in Ch.5 Sec.3. Requirements to steering of water jets are given in Ch.5 Sec.2.
