Therules in this chapter apply to ships which are intended for the carriage of theliquefied gases listed DNV GL rules Pt.5 Ch.7 Sec.19. The requirements aresupplementary to those for assignment of main class. The additional hazardsconsidered in this chapter include fire, toxicity, corrosivity, reactivity, lowtemperature and pressure.
Machineryinstallations and their auxiliary systems that support cargo handling, are tomeet the same rule requirements as if they were considered to support a mainfunction; see Pt.1 Ch.1 Sec.1 B100.
Shipscomplying with applicable parts of this chapter are considered suitable for thecarriage of the volatile chemicals included in DNV GL rules Pt.5 Ch.7 Sec.19.
Therequirements in this chapter are considered to meet the requirements of theInternational Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships CarryingLiquefied Gases in Bulk, IGC Code, Res. MSC.370(93).
