The scope of this chapter includes structures, supporting equipment, machinery systems, electrical and automation systems and launch and recovery systems for UUV.

Special functions for the operation of UUV, like control stations, gas supply, and mating equipment shall be proven for their intended use with the required certification issued by the Society or a recognized organization. Supporting systems may be included in the normal classification procedure of the support vessel, see Ch.6 Sec.12.
