The standard focuses on the performance-areas of instructors involved in training and education using simulators and addresses all operational areas related to design, delivery and assessment of learning programmes. In addition to generic competencies for people involved in transfer of knowledge and skills, specific simulator-related competencies are addressed separately.

The simulator instructor needs to be able to prepare and deliver the programme he/she’s assigned to and verify that learners at the end of the programme have met the learning objectives.
