This document sets the requirements to a data collection and historization infrastructure and its components. The guideline splits between three variants of infrastructures, one proprietary and two standardized. The goal is to ensure that the data flowing through such a data collection infrastructure, from vessel to data consumers, is reliable and trustworthy.

This document does not cover infrastructures related to the remote control of vessels or autonomous operation. Neither does it cover distribution of data from remote data center to data consumers on the vessel.
