The Society considers all relevant fire protection, -detection and -extinction requirements to be addressed by Ch.7 of the International Code of Safety for High-Speed Craft, 2000, as amended (hereafter referred to as the 2000 HSC Code).
Where the Government of the flag state have not authorized the Society to issue the HSC safety certificates on their behalf, the Society will only require either written confirmation from the flag state that the HSC certificate will be issued by them or a copy of the HSC certificate to be submitted for the Society's files. Based on this, the vessel will be assigned main class.
Supplementary requirements will be enforced for ships with additional class notations as required by the respective parts of the rules.
