The requirements in this section apply to vessels with an erected landing platform for helicopters or a landing area arranged directly on the weather deck or on the top of deckhouse.
These requirements shall be regarded as supplementary to those given for the assignment of main class. The requirements are not intended to apply to landing areas used for occasional or emergency operations as regulated by SOLAS Ch. II-2 Reg. 18.2.2.
