Non-convention vessels shall be designed with consideration to risk and consequences of flooding due to leakages or damage to side and bottom. The Society may require design damage cases to be defined and described in the ship documentation.
Requirements for the arrangement as given in Sec.2 [1] to Sec.2 [5] and Sec.3 [2], assume damage cases as defined by SOLAS. For vessels where other damage cases apply, the compartments shall be arranged so that equivalent safety is provided with applicable damage cases.
