Introduction

General

GL offshore classification aims to assure safety and reliability of offshore units and installations with regard to design, construction and operation. Wherever possible DNV GL offers additional, integrated services to assist clients towards fulfilling coastal state legislation, giving credit for classification activities.

This publication, presents standardised DNV GL verification services building on class, which may be used to document partial compliance with verification obligations related to operation on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).

Structure

This document is divided into three main chapters:

— Ch.1: General information about classification services related to operation on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).

— Ch.2: Design and construction requirements for the newbuilding phase

— Ch.3: Requirements for maintenance of NCS related class notations in the operational phase.
