This standard defines DNV GL's requirements related to certification of portable fire extinguishers for the Norwegian market. DNV GL is recognized by DSB (Direktoratet for samfunnssikkerhet og beredskap / Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection) to issue certification licences.
The certification system is based on type testing and assessment of factory quality control, manufacturer's continuous internal quality control and DNV GL's external inspection.
