Purpose of the Rules

The Rules for Classification and surveys of inland navigation vessels cover the Classification of inland navigation vessels as defined in 1.2.5.

The Rules published by GL give the requirements for the assignment and the maintenance of Class for inland navigation vessels.

Class assigned to a vessel reflects the discretionary opinion of GL that the vessel, for declared conditions of use and within the relevant time frame, complies with the Rules applicable at the time the service is rendered.

General Terms and Conditions valid at the time of signing of the contract with the party ordering the classification apply.
