Scope and Purpose

This specification covers interconnect systems typically used for memory card type devices, specified in PCMCIA PC Card Standard or JEIDA IC Memory Card Guidelines. The contacts are on 1.27 mm x 1 .27 mm (0.050 in x 0.050 in) contact spacing. The host connector (header) is defined as a housing with pin styie contacts that are soldered to a printed circuit board. The receptacle, card side connector, is defined as a housing with box styie contacts that are soldered to a printed circuit board. Connector polarization is achieved by rectangular shaped protrusions and/or voids in the housing. The specification is given according to the following:

1) Size: 68 circuit

2) Plastic housing only

4) With or without ejector mechanism

5) Type of solder tail

6) Type of solder pad layout

7) Housing & receptacle maximum dimensions

8) Plating

The application of this range of connectors includes use for signals in computer memory card applications and other electronic devices employing similar techniques.
