PURPOSE OF THE DOCUMENT

According to the EUROCONTROL Specification for SWIM Service Description [1] , a EUROCAE Service Specification shall describe a single service (Requirement SWIM-SERV-001) and shall be written in English using primary British spelling (SWIM-SERV-002).

This section shall be the general introduction to the document. It should introduce the SWIM Service defined at EUROCAE level, the intended readership and how to use the document.

Proposed text examples (to be completed) for this chapter:

This document exposes a SWIM Service Design in form of a EUROCAE SWIM Service Specification for the <xy> Service and aims to be used as a basis by SWIM Service Providers to build service instances upon the hereafter specified service elements.

The document at hand also serves as a basis to derive SWIM Service Definitions as defined in the EUROCONTROL SWIM Registry for organisations providing ATM-related information services.
