FM Approvals 1370 encompasses the design and performance requirements for vertical shaft, turbine type, barrel centrifugal fire pumps for use in fire protection systems. Approval is limited to vertical shaft, turbine type, barrel centrifugal fire pumps that have a minimum rated discharge pressure of at least 40 psi (275 kPa). In cases where metric sized vertical shaft, turbine type, barrel centrifugal fire pumps are to be examined for Approval, test criteria equal to or greater than the United States size or value shall be used.
