1. SCOPE

This specification defines the performance requirements for a cadmium or zinc protective coating on iron and steel surfaces, together with additional special finishes for zinc plate, to improve protective and/or appearance properties. Cadmium may be used in place of zinc in all cases, except as noted, however the reverse will not be permitted unless specific approval is granted by approved Engineering Change or Deviation.
