This standard covers weld nuts capable of withstanding property class 10 proof loads. They are referred to as being “equivalent” to property class 10 due to the selection of steel more suitable for welding.

Two styles of weld projections are included,

Elongated projections, which are suitable for welding to relatively thin coated or uncoated steel.

Round projections, which are suitable for welding to thicker steels

Before selecting the projection type, refer to the Design Rule referenced in the table. Engineering may consult with the welding experts in manufacturing for questions on projection shape, materials, or weld equipment capability.

The nuts in this standard are available in threaded and unthreaded versions. The unthreaded versions have hole sizes suitable to accept thread-forming screws.

The design of these nuts is similar to nuts manufactured in accordance with ISO 21670.
