The material defined by this specification is a thermoplastic heat stabilized molding compound based on polyamide (PA), also known as nylon. The typical types of unfilled nylon for fastener use are Nylon 6, Nylon 66, Nylon 46 and High Performance Nylon (PPA). All nylon materials may also include impact modification and/or UV stabilization for impact strength and weatherability, respectively.
