1. SCOPE

The two part labeling system defined by this specification consists of the following:

1.1 LABEL

A vinyl or polyester certification label with one side suitable to accept computer printing and the reverse or bonding surface coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive. This surface is protected by a treated release paper.

1.2 OVERLAY

A transparent polyester overlay with one surface coated with a pressure sensitive adhesive which is protected by a treated release paper. This overlay is machine laminated to the computer printed label and it completely covers the total printed area with an adequate overlap beyond the label edges.

1.3 ASSEMBLY

The assembly of the computer printed label with the overlay attached must be applied to a smooth surface area after removing the release paper. A soft plastic squeegee is used to press firmly in place for maximum contact and smooth final appearance.
