1. SCOPE

The material defined by this specification is an iron based material which achieves high density and improved dimensional accuracy through double pressing-double sintering. The chemical composition and high density of this material permits heat treatment to high strength levels in the core (quench and temper) and allows carburizing processes to improve surface wear characteristics.
