The material defined by this specification is a glass fiber reinforced, heat stabilized polyamide 6 molding compound.

NOTICE:  This material absorbs and retains moisture. Part design and tolerances must accommodate changes in part dimensions and physical properties due to moisture absorption or loss in the service/assembly environment. Physical properties are also dependent on temperature (example: see para. 4.4), properties could change significantly between -40 and 150 °C. The properties of this specification were generally developed with the glass fiber in the flow direction for cross flow or welded joint properties use an unfilled PA6 specification such as WSK-M4D672-A. Welding processes (friction, ultrasonic, hotplate, etc.) will be resin rich with little or no glass in the weld joint areas.
