1. SCOPE

The materials defined by this specification are components of a formed instrument panel and airbag cover assembly composed of foam with a UV and heat stabilized cover. Testing should be conducted on production or production representative parts unless otherwise indicated. Painted cover material must also meet the requirements of this specification and the appropriate paint material specification. Testing that is duplicated in the Instrument Panel and Airbag SDS needs to be performed only once, providing both Materials Engineering and AVT Core review the results. Repairs are not allowed in the airbag area unless mutually agreed upon by Materials Engineering and AVT Restraints.
