Anti lock braking systems (ABS) are used in vehicles to ensure stability during braking and optimize braking performance. They are part of the brake system.
Traction control systems (TCS) are used in vehicles to ensure stability and optimum traction performance.
The ESP/HSA (Electronic Stability Program) system shall, in additional to the conventional ABS and TCS, further increase driving safety under consideration of lateral dynamics when driving at the physical limits of adhesion between the tires and the road. The HSA/HBA highers the vehicles security at the longitudinal axis.
The ICC-System (IntegratedChassisControl) has additional to the ESP additional functions, as e.g. the TCS-Switch, which has three functions: normal driving, TCS/ESP off and the third function is sporty (e.g. Transmission, SADS, AdaptivPowerSteering, Engine and ESP).
This specification defines also the general requirements for TCS systems that use brake and/or engine intervention for control of the vehicles traction.
This specification describes all requirements for ABS-wheel speed sensors (active and passive sensors).
This specification defines also the general requirements for TCS systems that use brake and/or engine intervention for control of the vehicles traction.
This specification establishes the general ESP/HSA Subsystem requirements. The functions, performance, reliability, and validation required of the subsystem are defined in this document. Finally all general ESP/HSA sensor requirements are defined in this specification.
