1 Scope

The following test specification defines the requirements, test conditions and test methods for motor vehicle filament bulbs. In general the requirements of the respective DIN parts of DIN 72 601, the ECE regulations no. 37 "Uniform provisions concerning the approval of filament lamps for use In approved lamp units of power driven vehicles and of their trailers" and the VDA recommendation 8000 "Quality requirements for motor vehicle filament bulbs and their testing" apply. If there are lower requirements (range of tolerance, functional values) in the above Indicated specifications and regulations, then these will in principle be replaced by the requirements of this test specification. Deviations shall be agreed upon between supplier and TDC-Central Laboratories. Filament bulbs for head lamps and signal lamps are subject to type approval, ¡.e., they must be type approved and provided with a type approval marking according to EEC or ECE.
