1. Scope

This test method shall be used to evaluate the sound attenuation characteristics of noise insulation materials used in automobiles. Measurements are valid over a frequency range of 100 Hz to 10 kHz and acoustical effects of between -20 dEl to +50 dB of the test material may be measured.
